Here's what we can do for you...
One of the main questions employees ask themselves when searching for a place to work is, "will I have opportunities to develop myself here?" At C&W, we believe that if you develop your people, you will grow your business. Through training, employees gain insight, confidence, understanding, new skills and knowledge to perform even better in their positions. However, please keep in mind that accomplishing this does not happen overnight. Training is a process that is ongoing and continual. As someone once said, "the true joy of life is the journey, not the destination." Here are some examples of the growing list of training programs your employees can experience:
- Foundations - Welcome to Coakley & Williams Hotel Management Company! This two-hour orientation program provides a general overview of who we are as a company and what we are all about. Employees will learn about diversity, our sexual harassment policy, company values and history.
- Spirit of Hospitality - In partnership with the American Hotel & Lodging Association, this one-day seminar shows line level employees the importance of guest satisfaction through interactive discussions, activities and a thought provoking video. Everything emphasizes to our employees the importance of having a great attitude or "Spirit of Hospitality." It really makes a big difference when it comes to great guest service!
- Supervisory Skill Builders - Also in partnership with the American Hotel & Lodging Association, Coakley & Williams is pleased to present a great training experience. Here is what some of our supervisors have been saying about it: "Fun and enlightening!" "Had a great time and learned a lot." "Great information!" "Humorous and lighthearted while requiring you to think and discuss ideas." "I liked learning what I can do to create a better team." During this week of training, managers at all levels will be taken through important subjects such as communication, time management, staffing and leadership. "Our goal is for every supervisor to walk away with something they can use and take back to their property" says Mark Williams. At the end of the training, supervisors have the opportunity to take their CHS (Certified Hospitality Supervisor) exam in conjunction with AH&LA's Educational Institute.
- True Hospitality Values - At Coakley & Williams, we place a high emphasis on our company values. That is why each and every week we pick one of our True Hospitality Values to focus on. Every Monday employees should expect to see a brief lesson as well as questions and quotes that correspond with the value. While this is not a training session per se, it is an ongoing piece of learning that employees see frequently.
- Sales & Marketing Training - Since this is subject to change annually, please visit the "Sales & Marketing" section of this website to view further information.
- Artistry Front Desk Training - Implemented Spring of 2010! Front desk team members will go on a four-hour journey towards learning how to become exceptional at what they do. Attendees will learn incredible lessons on hospitality that include subjects such as:
- Hospitality fundamentals
- Teamwork
- Communication
